This Privacy Policy explains how Scanners Tally Ltd (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use the Scanners Tally app and website (the “Service”). We take privacy seriously and only collect what we need to provide the Service.

1. Data We Collect

Account & profile data

  • Email address (used to sign in and to contact you).
  • Name, and if you provide them, company name and phone number.
  • Region/country to determine pricing and formatting.
  • Authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from that provider.

Client data you enter

  • Details of your farming clients: name, email, phone, address, and notes.
  • You are responsible for this data (see our Terms of Service).

Scanning & operational data

  • Seasons you create (name, year, dates, notes).
  • Scanning tallies and metrics, animal identifiers, and per-entry notes.
  • Reports you generate and a log of reports emailed to recipients.

Location data

  • Approximate device location, captured only when you actively choose to fill in a client address.

Billing & subscription data

  • Subscription status, plan, and billing period. Payments are processed by Stripe, Apple, or Google. We do not store full card details.

Technical & sync data

  • Session tokens, app version, and sync metadata needed for offline use.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide your account, store scanning history, and sync data across devices.
  • Generate lambing and calving summaries and email reports to recipients you choose.
  • Send notifications relevant to your use of the app.
  • Process subscriptions and billing.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Produce anonymised, aggregated metrics. Anonymised data may be made available to third parties.

3. How Data Is Stored

  • We use trusted third-party database infrastructure providers.
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and backed up to a separate geographic location.
  • Some data is stored locally on your device for offline use.

4. Third Parties We Share Data With

  • Supabase — hosting, authentication, database, and file storage.
  • Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions.
  • RevenueCat, Apple, and Google — in-app purchase and subscription management.
  • Google and Apple — sign-in (OAuth) if you choose those methods.
  • Email delivery provider — to send reports and account emails.
  • Address lookup provider (Addy Solutions, NZ) — to suggest addresses as you type.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can request deletion of your account at any time. Your personal profile information is deleted promptly. Scanning data and client records may be retained in de-associated form so affected clients can continue to access records. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Use our contact form and select the privacy option.

7. Children

The Service is intended for business use by adults.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via the app or website.
